It’s another European excursion for RealNetworks


RealNetworks Inc. has launched another European music service.

With the new service, RealNetworks Europe subscribers have instant access to more than 300 CD-quality, ad-free radio stations, mixed by RealNetwork`s music editors, the company says. "RealMusic is the first comprehensive music service to embrace the diversity of European listening habits and to give users a simple way to listen to the music they love while discovering new, unfamiliar artists and songs,” says Gabriel Levy, head of music at RealNetworks Europe.

The new European music service incorporates advanced search technology that enables subscribers to explore thousands of Internet radio stations from around the world, categorized by language, country and genre. RealMusic users also are able to tailor the service to their own particular tastes by saving favorite radio stations, videos and genres with a My Favorites button.

RealNetworks, No. 218 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, charges a monthly subscriber fee of about 12 Euros ($15 in U.S. currency) for its new music service. The company launched a similar service for the United Kingdom in December.
