Buy.com introduces interactive shopping and entertainment program
Buy.com has launched BuyTV, a broadband, interactive shopping program that will be filmed in HD and available for download on Instant Media. Each 30-minute episode will feature product reviews, Top 10 entertainment countdowns and interviews with industry experts.
Episode segments from the show also will be made available for streaming on the Buy.com home page via an interactive platform that not only displays real-time product pricing information but also allows shoppers to initiate the purchase of the product being reviewed.
“BuyTV has one very simple goal—to help our customers make better buying decisions,” said Scott Blum, chairman and CEO of Buy.com. “We believe that we can accomplish that through our interviews with leading experts and product demonstrations from some of the world’s top manufacturers and brands.”
Buy.com, No. 33 in the Internet Retailer Top 400 Guide to Retail Web Sites, has partnered with Instant Media Inc., a developer of HD IPTV solutions, to provide the download service and players. Shoppers may opt to have each new episode auto-delivered to their desktops every week.
