Foot Locker chooses SPS Commerce for web-based supply chain functions
New York-based Venator Group Inc., which operates Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker and Champs Sports, has chosen St. Paul, MN-based SPS Commerce Inc.’s Catalog Services to automate electronic commerce supply chains transactions with its small and mid-sized suppliers and to expedite deliveries to its stores.
Venator said it will use SPS` Catalog Service to electronically integrate and automatically update its universal product code catalog data and ticketing and labeling information for the small- to mid-sized vendors that Venator traditionally communicated with via phone, fax or mail.
"We purchase from numerous vendors across the globe, so ensuring we have the most up-to-date and accurate product, pricing and shipping information from our suppliers can be complex and time consuming," said Joe Mills, director - system development of Venator Group. "SPS` Online Catalog Service cost-effectively connects us with our suppliers via the web and synchronizes their UPC catalogs with our internal systems. This eliminates costly errors associated with paper-based purchasing and streamlines the order fulfillment and delivery process for us and our suppliers."
Venator will utilize SPS` hosted business-to-business catalog services to process UPC catalog data, as well as to update and edit product and pricing information. In addition, Venator will use SPS` browser-based synchronization agent tools to develop customized schedules to automatically update the company`s core system and item masters with vendor changes.
