Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is launching a college textbook site at walmart.com, the company announced today. It will stock more than 300,000 titles and offer discounts of up to 30%
"We want students to think of Wal-Mart for all their back-to-school needs, even college textbooks," said John Fleming, senior vice president of merchandising at Walmart.com. "And now at Walmart.com, students can order the books they need, knowing they're getting Every Day Low Prices from a brand they trust."
Walmart.com’s college textbooks division will compete with Barnes & Noble.com, Amazon.com, half.com and the online operations of independent college bookstores.
