Walmart.com launches a college bookstore
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is launching a college textbook site at walmart.com, the company announced today. It will stock more than 300,000 titles and offer discounts of up to 30%
"We want students to think of Wal-Mart for all their back-to-school needs, even college textbooks," said John Fleming, senior vice president of merchandising at Walmart.com. "And now at Walmart.com, students can order the books they need, knowing they`re getting Every Day Low Prices from a brand they trust."
Walmart.com’s college textbooks division will compete with Barnes & Noble.com, Amazon.com, half.com and the online operations of independent college bookstores.
