Amazon launches a new site aimed at smaller businesses
From groceries to music Amazon.com keeps right on expanding.
This time Amazon, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, is launching a business center aimed at small and midsized businesses.
The new center will feature customer forums, industry-specific software such as for financial services, and access to Amazon Web Services, the company’s e-commerce services arm. The site, Amazon.com/allbusinesscenter.com, will also feature merchandise such as furniture, electronics and office supplies.
“Our goal with the Amazon All Business Center is to help eliminate some of the guess work when it comes to the information small business owners need to know and the products they need to have in order to succeed,” says Amazon vice president of software Greg Hart.
In addition to services and merchandise, business owners can also use the center, which is being co-sponsored by software suppliers Microsoft Corp. and Intuit Inc., to access their corporate account and fulfillment services. The site features content and other features to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses. “We will continue to expand and evolve the store to meet our customers` needs,” says Hart.
