Gartner Hosts Nov. b2b Conference
Business-to-business e-commerce will
grow at aggressive rates through 2004, causing
fundamental changes to the way businesses do business
with each other. The catalyst for B2B e-commerce is
e-market maker activity. E-market makers are projected
to facilitate $2.71 trillion in e-commerce sales
transactions in 2004, representing 37% of the overall
B2B market. EMarketplaces and exchanges will be
explored in-depth at B2B eMarketplaces: Competing and
Prospering in the World of Online Exchanges, a
conference that will be presented by Gartner Group
Inc. from November 6-8 in Boston, Mass.
During the 2 1/2-day conference, Gartner analysts
will examine different business models and strategies,
provide insight into the successes and stumbling
blocks encountered by online exchanges in a variety of
vertical industries, and discuss tactics to help
companies survive the coming shakeout.
