SHIPNOW OPENS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT OFFICE IN INDIA
Expands development of its multi-carrier parcel shipping software
CHICAGO--June 7, 2001--ShipNow today announced it has established
ShipNow India, Ltd., primarily to expand and speed development of its
parcel shipping software products.
Amod Bhide has been named vice president, software operations of
ShipNow India, a wholly owned subsidiary. Bhide will be based both in
Chicago and Bombay, where he will oversee an initial staff of eight
developers engaged in engineering and design. The office is expected
to grow to 24 developers by yearend.
Bhide, who will report to Michael Stowe, ShipNow`s chief
development officer, has extensive experience in database and system
administration, data modeling, application development, and
supercomputing. He previously worked in both technology and management
positions for the areospan.com subsidiary of SITA, AAR Corporation,
and the Center for Development for Advanced Computing.
Brad Hansen, ShipNow`s chief operating officer, said, "This office
will allow us to conduct our development efforts around the clock, to
thereby enable ShipNow to further expand its technology leadership in
multi-carrier, small-parcel shipping software. Bhide, who we have
worked with since last September, knows our needs and has assembled a
powerful team."
