Major League Baseball uses the web for instant World Series gratification
Major League Baseball Productions is teaming with A&E Home Video and Amazon.com to offer baseball fans nearly instant gratification of their desire to watch just-completed World Series games again.
In conjunction with CreateSpace, an Amazon company that offers on-demand services for creating content, Major League Baseball and A&E Home Video will offer DVDs of World Series games played between the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Sox within hours of each game’s completion.
In addition to offering individual complete games on demand, Major League Baseball Productions and A&E Home Video also offer a line of World Series collector`s edition DVD box sets that feature every complete game from World Series championships in 1975, 1977, 1979, 1986, 1987, 2004, 2005 and 2006. A complete set of the 2007 World Series will also be available. "Offering individual games on demand is a natural extension to the sets,” says A&E Home Video vice president Kate Winn.
Each game of the 2007 World Series can be purchased for $14.95 on either Amazon.com or MLB.com. CreateSpace manufactures DVDs, CDs and books as they are purchased and ships them directly to customers. In addition to working with Major League Baseball and A&E Home Video again, CreateSpace has also worked with other content providers, including ABC News, BBC Motion Gallery and The National Archives and Records Administration.
Amazon.com is No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
