Leading Vendors Offer Flexible, Scalable Solution for Implementing Revenue Management For Tier One Retailers Leading to Increased Margins
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., (June 14, 2001) ¾ KhiMetrics, Inc. today announced it will launch the retail industry’s first Revenue Management PortalÔ, incorporating technologies from IBMÒ (NYSE: IBM) and Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), designed to simplify the implementation of revenue management solutions and increase sales and margins more rapidly.
Utilizing technologies from IBM and Oracle, KhiMetrics has designed the portal as a complete and flexible solution for retailers who want to deploy retail revenue management quickly. Retail clients will use the portal to access KhiMetrics’ Retail Revenue Management Application SuiteÔ, a business application designed to help retailers achieve their financial goals through strategic pricing.
“Retailers are looking for a complete business solution, not a technology or science,” said Jeff Roster, senior analyst, consumer and retail products for Gartner Group, Inc. “Retailers are shifting from a cost savings focus to driving incremental revenue. In other words, retailers will need to do more than control costs. They will need to improve revenue in this ultra-competitive environment. Solutions that help retailers drive incremental revenue should find a ready and willing audience.“
The KhiMetrics Revenue Management Portal combines leading technologies including Unix, JAVA and XML, supported by a robust architecture and designed specifically to meet the needs of “tier one” retailers. The portal combines the Retail Revenue Management Application Suite with an application server accessed through a customized and secured gateway. Users are presented with a single graphical user interface on which they will select from a palate of objects to view meaningful information produced from the application suite. The view will be customized to the user and based on the role and the security of the user.
KhiMetrics’ strategy follows leading “open” portal strategies, wherein the platform represents a technology neutral framework for launching other relevant enterprise applications, legacy or otherwise. The solution can be deployed as a client-hosted or Internet outsourced solution, and as such is compatible with all IT infrastructures.
“In a very short time, revenue management has become a critical business solution and our portal represents the next evolution in revenue management, designed to simplify the installation and day-to-day use,” said Brent Lippman, CEO of KhiMetrics. “We have been working closely with our business partners to evolve our strategy, resulting in the Revenue Management Portal. As a result, we have developed a best-of-breed solution that scales to meet tier one retailer needs for reliability and scalability and is instrumental in achieving enhanced financial goals.”
KhiMetrics clients include Safeway Inc., Osco/Savon (a division of Albertsons) and leading internet superstore, buy.com as well as other leading retailers.
KhiMetrics, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., is the first software company to deliver a comprehensive retail revenue management system, which helps retailers achieve their financial goals through strategic pricing. Privately held, investors include Oracle Corporation, Boston Capital Ventures, RWI Group, Telos Venture Partners, Koch Ventures and others.
