ALIBRIS AND BAKER & TAYLOR JOIN FORCES TO HELP LIBRARIES ACQUIRE HARD-TO-FIND BOOKS

The Alibris inventory of out-of-print, out-of-stock, and rare books will soon be accessible to users of Baker & Taylor’s The Title Source™ II, the premier collection development database tool for librarians. This will allow librarians looking for out-of-print, out-of-stock, or rare books to link directly from The Title Source II’s bibliographic record to a listing on the Alibris Web site. With immediate access to an expansive selection of hard-to-find titles from Alibris, Baker & Taylor will provide librarians with a streamlined solution for locating and acquiring these critical materials.
Libraries will be able to search for hard-to-find books using the same solution that they rely upon for in-print materials. “Our goal is to make it as simple for libraries to acquire out-of-print, out-of-stock, and rare books as it is to acquire in-print books,” said Martin Manley, president and CEO of Alibris. “Together with Baker & Taylor, we achieve this goal by offering our books through one integrated resource.
