FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX, AZ and IRVINE, CA, June 19, 2001 – Accesspoint Corporation (OTCBB: ASAP), a leading provider of Internet-based financial transaction processing systems, today announced that it will begin rolling out Hypercom’s electronic signature and receipt capture, customized receipts and on-screen terminal (POS) advertising applications for merchants using Hypercom’s consumer-activated, touch screen-equipped ICE series card payment terminals. Accesspoint is also deploying Hypercom’s IEN 6000 integrated access network devices, and Visual HDT (VHDT) C++-based developer’s software.

“Together with Hypercom, we are bringing to market value-added wireless, Internet-based and smart card applications that allow merchants to generate new revenues and increase their competitive edge. These new applications will give our sales channel a compelling differentiator in the competitive ISO market. They also have the potential to significantly impact our bottom line,” said Al Urcuyo, Office of the President, Accesspoint.

“Merchants are very clearly demanding sophisticated, revenue-generating, tamper-proof solutions at the point-of-sale. That’s what Hypercom delivers, and we are pleased to support Accesspoint in this endeavor,” said Jairo E. Gonzalez, President, Hypercom Transaction Systems Group. Hypercom’s epic (ePOS-infocommerce) electronic signature and receipt capture service (ERC) creates a paperless system that securely stores and retrieves credit card receipts and signatures on demand, reducing the merchants need to manually retrieve paper receipts. Hypercom ERC combines secure front-end signature capture with a secure back-end receipt storage and retrieval platform. Customers simply swipe their card, interact with the terminal through the intuitive touch-screen displays, and sign directly on the screen. All receipt data, including the cardholder’s signature, is electronically transmitted, captured and stored on secure servers. Signature and transaction data are locked together as a single image and time-stamped for fraud prevention.

Hypercom’s POS advertising service allows merchants to generate custom logos on receipts, and display and send sophisticated interactive messages and revenue-generating incentives to the customer when they are interacting with, and have their attention focused on, Hypercom’s ICE terminal at the point-of-sale. Coupon choices, messages and loyalty program rewards can also be printed on to the receipts to build customer loyalty and generate incremental revenue. Additionally, Hypercom’s VHDT gives software developers the ability to quickly develop or customize applications to meet the needs of their unique merchant environments.

Accesspoint will also deploy Hypercom’s industry leading IEN 6000 networking product within its network, which will allow for the routing of transactions from Hypercom ICE terminals located at merchant sites directly to the Accesspoint network of secure servers.

This front-end terminal management capability will allow Accesspoint merchants to integrate their point of sale business practices with Internet storefronts provided by Accesspoint. Merchants will be able to receive orders from on-line stores at their retail location from the ICE terminal, and without the requirement for an Internet-connected personal computer, and also receive e-mail messages directly from their terminal.

Additionally, these applications will be synchronized with the merchant’s website enabling full integration between a merchant’s on and off line sales activities.

These services will also enable Accesspoint to be the “front end” for transactions initiated by Hypercom terminals, giving Accesspoint, and its sales groups, access to transactional and monthly revenue from a previously untapped market.

The multi-function epic ICE card payment terminal line is an ideal platform for a wide range of value-added functions for large national retailers, chain stores, supermarkets and other retail environments. The high performance, Internet-enabled terminal and web appliance features, a touch screen with graphics display and pen input screen, make it extremely easy for consumers to operate.
