Amazon hooks up with Circuit City

Amazon.com is offering Circuit City electronics items and in-store pick-up at more than 600 Circuit City stores in a deal that pays Amazon a percentage of the revenue for Circuit City electronics purchased through Amazon’s Electronics store. The expanded selection of products and the in-store pick-up will launch in November. Customers who order items from the Circuit City selection will have the option to pick them up at the store, while items exclusive to Amazon.com will be delivered by Amazon.com.

As part of the deal, Amazon is responsible for processing online transactions for the goods while Circuit City will be responsible for product fulfillment and product-related customer service. Circuit City also will accept returns on merchandise that was picked up at its stores.
