Endeca names new leadership
Endeca Technologies Inc. has named a new CEO and president. Founder Steve Papa has been appointed CEO. Prior to founding Endeca in 1999 Papa worked for Inktomi and Teradata, the data warehouse development arm of NCR Corp. He will continue to serve on the Endeca board of directors.
Endeca also has named Dan Demmer as president and chief operating officer. Demmer joined Endeca in 2005 as chief financial officer. Prior to Endeca, Demmer served as CFO of IONA Technologies, an application integration solutions provider, and in various management positions at Digital Equipment Corp
"Over the past year, Steve and Dan have delivered outstanding results across all aspects of our business,” says Endeca chairman Steven Walske.
In a related personnel move, Michael Porter and Edwin Gillis have been appointed as independent members of Endeca’s board. Porter will chair the newly formed strategy committee and Gillis will chair the audit committee. Porter is the Bishop William Lawrence University professor based at Harvard Business School. Gillis has been the CFO of three publicly traded software companies. He most recently was executive vice president and CFO of Veritas Software, which in July merged with Symantec Corp.
