GourmetMarket.com Gobbles Up VirtualGourmet.com

San Francisco-based GourmetMarket.com has signed a letter of intent to acquire rival online specialty foods retailer VirtualGourmet.com in a move that is expected to create one of the most extensive gourmet food selections online. Terms werenÕt disclosed. GourmetMarket,which already has an extensive web offering, currently has more than 150 co-marketing agreements with premium food, wine and kitchenware suppliers. Gourmet Market has retained Rundell, Coursey & Co., the development company that launched Virtual Gourmet in 1999, to provide day-to-day operational and strategic management for the company.
