Direct Checkout ties the payment process to marketing campaigns

Nexternal Solutions, a provider of e-commerce software, has released Direct Checkout, an application that allows shoppers to complete a purchase transaction on the first page that pops up when clicking a product link on a search results page or in a promotional e-mail.

“While feed conversion was very strong in my online store, Direct Checkout increased it even further,” says Steve Barbour, owner of Barre, VT-based Barre Army Navy Store, which operates VTarmynavy.com. “Having an easy and quick shopping experience is critical for my customers and this new tool redefines the experience a customer can have online.”

Instead of a shopper going to a landing page or products page within an online store, the customer is offered Direct Checkout for a specific product. The customer picks attribute information for the product, if applicable, and then enters shipping and payment information. The software can be used with pay-per-click ads, online marketplaces, e-mail marketing campaigns, search engine optimized product landing pages, and online video ads.

Nexternal’s shopping cart software is equipped with a catalog to make product pages attractive to search engines. It also creates data-feed files compatible with product comparison engines such as Google Product Search, Shopzilla, Yahoo Shopping, Shopping.com, PriceGrabber.com, Windows Live and NexTag. The product also has a built-in affiliate marketing module and integrates with most third-party affiliate programs.
