Factory Card Outlet Sees Return on Investment With Hosting Option from Ultimate Software

Weston, FL, June 20, 2001 - Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of Web-based payroll and employee management solutions, announced that Factory Card Outlet, a leading retailer of discounted cards and party supplies with 175 stores throughout 20 states, is already experiencing return on investment (ROI) upon implementing award-winning UltiPro to streamline its payroll and employee management processes. Factory Card Outlet implemented Ultimate Software`s UltiPro earlier this year through the intersourcing platform, offered in partnership with IBM Global Services, which combines the functionality and versatility of outsourcing with the control and cost-efficiency of an in-house system.
"We chose intersourcing, the application hosting model because we didn`t have room for additional hardware and our IT department needed to focus on revenue-generating projects rather than managing payroll," said John Vogel, Factory Card Outlet`s Director of Human Resources. "We`ve reduced the total payroll processing time by 60%, saving us more than a month of time over the course of a year," adds Vogel. "What typically took us two and a half days now only takes one day using Ultipro."
In addition to its prior lengthy payroll process, Factory Card Outlet was also spending too much time on manual processes in its human resources department. In fact, the company had three systems just for managing employee benefits. With UltiPro in place, both the HR and payroll departments now have better access to a uniform, accurate set of information and no duplication of efforts when entering employee information.
