Former AOL postmaster Charles Stiles joins Goodmail Systems
Charles Stiles, who oversaw e-mail delivery as postmaster at mailbox provider AOL, has joined Goodmail Systems Inc. as vice president of worldwide development. He will oversee deployment of a new platform to extend the use of Goodmail’s CertifiedEmail system for verifying the legitimacy of e-mail and be responsible for global policy toward the Internet service providers that deliver e-mail.
“Having managed one of the world’s largest e-mail domains, Charles understands what it means to provide for a safe online consumer e-mail experience,” says Daniel Dreymann, CEO and co-founder of Goodmail Systems. “He is very well positioned to lead the expansion of CertifiedEmail’s network of ISP and mailbox provider partners worldwide.”
Seven of the top 10 U.S. mailbox providers, including AOL, use Goodmail’s CertifiedEmail system to verify the legitimacy of incoming e-mail. Stiles spent 10 years at AOL, working in member services and network operations before taking on the role of postmaster.
