Thousands Pack NYC`s Javits Center For iEB- Internet And E-Business Expo

E-Business Thrives as More Than Half of the Show`s Registrants Plan to Purchase Products or Services Within The Next 90 Days

STAMFORD, Conn.--April 17, 2001-- Thousands of E-Business executives and technologists attended the Internet and E-Business Conference and Expo (iEB) at the Javits Center in New York, April 2nd through the 4th. There they met with some 350 exhibiting companies and attended 150 educational conference and best practice seminar sessions to learn how to use cutting-edge Internet and e-business technology to drive cost savings, improve customer service and increase revenues for their businesses. iEB, co-produced by Advanstar Communications and Gartner, is the world`s largest and most comprehensive electronic business forum, and is the only one which offers unbiased, actionable information and advice about succeeding at every stage of implementing e-business initiatives.

iEB officials reported that nearly 350 exhibiting companies occupied nearly 200,000 gross square feet of exhibit space on the Javits Center show floor.

"Given the turnout of senior level executives from Fortune 500 and middle market companies, we believe that this year`s iEB New York Expo has been a resounding success," said Steven Engel, Group Show Director, North America IT Events, Advanstar Communications. "When you look at our solid registration numbers of over 10,000 together with iEB`s strong exhibitor participation, it becomes evident that the iEB Expo is truly the focal point for information, networking, sales and media exposure for the entire e-Business community."

Further confirming these sentiments was exhibitor Amotz Shemi, Ph.D, president and CEO of WanWay Technologies, who said, "The show was great for us...a great opportunity. We generated a lot of leads. It turns out that this business community shows very great interest in what we offer."

PurchaseSoft`s Kristin French agreed, saying, "The show actually went very well...I can definitely say that tradeshows are very important for our business. We do get solid leads coming out of it and that`s why we were here..."

"Participation at the E-Business University, our conference and seminar sessions, was lively," said Kevin Murphy, Gartner analyst and iEB program chair. "Business and technology executives were seeking practical solutions that would enable them to positively affect their bottom lines against today`s uncertain economic backdrop. iEB is the venue where they could find these solutions to meet the challenges of an evolving, and sometimes volatile marketplace."

iEB returns to New York in 2002, from February 27th - March 1st, 2002 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
