Online measurement company Keynote reports 22% increase in annual revenue

Fiscal year2007 revenue was up 22% at Keynote Systems Inc., which measures the performance of web sites and mobile services. Revenue for the fourth quarter, which ended Sept. 30, was up 17% over the year-ago quarter.

“Fiscal year 2007 has been the best year ever for Keynote, powered mainly by our Mobile Test and Measurement business, which exceeded our expectations in each quarter of the year,” says Umang Gupta, chairman and CEO. “Our team delivered total cash from operations of over $20.3 million and free cash flow of $14.8 million, which is a record for any twelve-month period in our history.”

For the full fiscal year, the company reported revenue of $67.8 million versus $55.5 million for the prior year. The net loss for the year was $4.7 million, compared with $7.5 million in fiscal 2006.

For the fourth quarter of 2007, revenue was $17.8 million, a 3% increase from the third quarter and 17% ahead of the same quarter a year ago. For the first quarter of fiscal 2008 the company is projecting revenue of between $17.8 million and $18.3 million.

Based in San Mateo, CA, Keynote has 2,700 customers, up from 2,600 a year ago. Among its clients are eBay, Dell, Disney and Microsoft. Besides measuring web and mobile performance, the company also provides customer experience research, drawing on a panel of 160,000 online consumers.
