Mervyns Selects Enterprise JDA Software Suite in Major Strategic Systems Replacement Decision
Leading Department Store Retailer Selects JDA for Compressed Delivery Capability, Comprehensive Functionality and Integration with Other Key Solution Providers
Scottsdale, Ariz. – September 15, 2005 – JDA® Software Group, Inc. announced today that Mervyns, LLC, a leading promotional neighborhood department store, selected JDA Portfolio® applications for a comprehensive systems replacement. After conducting a thorough competitive marketplace review, Mervyns licensed numerous Portfolio™ applications in third quarter 2005 for complete enterprise coverage. JDA’s consulting experts will be implementing applications from JDA’s Merchandise Operations™, Strategic Merchandise Management™ and Portfolio Store Systems™ suites, forming the cornerstone of Mervyns’ new retail solutions portfolio.
Mervyns’ decision to significantly invest in such a broad technology implementation was due to its July 2004 spin off from its parent company.
“JDA was the only solutions provider that could address the key driving factors for our core systems selection. We needed a short delivery time coupled with a best practice, comprehensive and reliable infrastructure upon which we could operate independently and make a meaningful and positive difference to our business,” said Kurt Streitz, Mervyns’ chief information officer.
Streitz noted that JDA showed industry leadership, expertise and thorough professionalism during the rigorous and competitive selection process as well as providing the only broad based solution that thoroughly covered Mervyns’ needs.
“JDA was able to demonstrate the compelling capabilities of its solutions and how they can address the real-world business processes and workflow in key areas of our business. Additionally, JDA’s success in helping other retailers overcome similar challenges that we face was evident in the personalized customer testimonials that we heard from reputable industry executives,” added Streitz.
Commenting on this significant license signing, JDA CEO Hamish Brewer said, “Mervyns had to make a pivotal decision that would directly affect its destiny. They made the right choice in selecting JDA.”
“JDA’s solutions are market leaders for real and important reasons. With our dedicated focus on retail best practices and a proven implementation methodology, Mervyns can start defining a new and better future for its customers, employees, business partners and shareholders,” added Brewer.
The JDA solutions at Mervyns are being complemented by Lawson Software financial applications.
