YANTRA TOPS 100,000 ORDER LINES PER HOUR IN SUN MICROSYSTEMS` PERFORMANCE TEST
Multi-Enterprise Order Management Application Delivers Reliability and
Scalability to Global 2000 Businesses
TEWKSBURY, MA, June 27, 2001 - Yantra Corporation (www.yantra.com), the
leading provider of multi-enterprise commerce solutions, announced today
that it is the first Web-based supply chain application to manage a full
order lifecycle running at a sustainable rate of 100,000 order lines per
hour. The performance test more than doubled the scalability record for
e-Business transaction volumes.
Performed in Sun Microsystems` Enterprise Technology Center in Burlington,
MA, the test simulated the high-volume, multi-enterprise environments
found in Global 2000 companies. Yantra`s Multi-Enterprise Order Management
application managed the complete lifecycle of a complex customer transaction
including: order creation, dynamic sourcing, inventory allocation and
release, creation of ship advices and receipt of ship confirmation. Five
hundred simulated customer service representatives (CSRs) accessed the
system concurrently to perform order modifications, queries and returns
processing.
Yantra`s Multi-Enterprise Order Management is a pure Java technology,
Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) compliant application that
extends existing ERP and supply chain systems by efficiently coordinating
buy and sell orders across multiple business units, regions, divisions,
enterprises, suppliers and marketplaces. It`s highly flexible architecture
enables companies to manage complex business models, multiple workflows
and many-to-many relationships. As a result, companies can present a single
face to their customers and suppliers, significantly reduce inventories,
quickly add complementary products and services from different business
units, partners and new acquisitions, outsource non-core activities and
pilot new business opportunities with less risk.
The performance test replicated 500 concurrent users in a full workload
production schedule running multiple agents together, making multiple
queries and auto-modifications to each order. It ran on a J2EE-compliant
application server cluster and an industry-leading relational database
on the Sun Platform running the Solarisä Operating Environment ("OE").
The web server and Yantra application ran on the equivalent of 20 Sun
UltraSPARCä II processors. Sun`s Enterprise 10000 server acted as the
database server along with the Sun T3 StorEdgeä Array.
"The results from the performance test demonstrate that the Yantra application
running on Sun can provide the level of performance and dependability
that many businesses need to handle orders and inventory across extended
trading networks," said Bob DeLaney, Group Manager, Worldwide Retail Markets
for Sun Microsystems. "This outcome is yet another example of how Sun
provides the massive scalability retailers need for management of their
global supply chains."
"As Global 2000 companies look to extend their business processes across
business units and external trading partners, they need highly scalable
and reliable applications that enable them to deliver on their customer
commitments," said Steve Aulds, Senior Vice President of Research and
Development at Yantra. "We`ve built this application specifically for
high-volume, multi-enterprise environments. This benchmark validates what
our current users already know: Yantra has the most scalable and reliable
order management engine available for demanding e-Business environments."
