L.L. Bean Completes Rollout of Tomax Retail.net® Store Solutions

Includes Implementation of Largest Thin Client Store in the World; Streamlines Store Operations and Supports Integration to Multichannel Requirements

Salt Lake City, UT, September 16, 2005. Tomax Corporation announces the enterprise-wide implementation of Retail.net Store Solutions for L.L. Bean.

The complete suite of Tomax Retail.net Store Solutions, including Java point of sale (JPOS), has been rolled out to the L.L. Bean chain of outlet and retail stores, including their flagship location in Freeport, Maine. This store operates 24 x 7 x 365, running up to 70 POS lanes during peak times and processing several thousand transactions each day. The implementation of Retail.net at this location is believed to make it the largest thin client retail store operating in the world. In addition to handling daily POS needs, Retail.net also meets critical requirements in the areas of product delivery, off-site warehouse pickup, radio frequency, monogramming, and item repair transactions.

“Tomax has been a great partner in working with us to meet the unique requirements of our POS. There was tremendous hard work and camaraderie shown by the entire project team throughout the implementation of both the backoffice component and POS,” says Marjorie Richardson, IT Senior Manager for L.L. Bean.
