Eric Decroix named chief marketing officer at GS1

GS1, which develops global standards for the identification of goods and services across the supply chain, has named Eric Decroix as chief marketing officer. A Belgian national most recently managing director of Belgium’s financial publishing firm Editeco, he brings significant experience in marketing and communications to this new role. He will be based in Belgium.

Decroix was with Procter & Gamble for 12 years, where he eventually became a marketing director. He also held the position of marketing director of a Belgian retail chain, was chairman and managing director of advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather Belgium, and was managing director of Produpress, a magazine publisher.

Decroix, says GS1 CEO Miguel Lopera, “has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to create and implement successful marketing and communications programs, in both multinational and local companies, in a variety of sectors and environments. His expertise will allow us to significantly strengthen awareness of the GS1 brand and offer among all our targets.”

Gs1, a not-for-profit company, seeks to improving the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains, globally and across sectors.
