Zappos leads in May high broadband connectivity

Web shoppers didn’t waste any time beating feet to Zappps.com in May. Zappos responded by offering web shoppers with a high broadband connection the fastest connection speed in 2.82 seconds, says Gomez Inc.

After Zappos the retailer with the next fastest time was Dell at 3.31 seconds, followed by Scholastic (3.79 seconds). Redcats (3.91 seconds), Avon (4.13 seconds), Eddie Bauer (4.21 seconds), OfficeMax (4.29 seconds), Cabela’s (4.60 seconds), Home Shopping Network (4.66 seconds) and Amazon.com (4.95 seconds).

Web shoppers typically use a high broadband connection to log onto the Internet from a corporate environment, usually their place of employment. At home most web shoppers use a low broadband connection and in May the retail site with the fastest low broadband time also was Zappos. Shoppers could access Zappos.com via low broadband in 5.66 seconds in May, followed by Dell (6.59 seconds), Scholastic (7.8 seconds), Avon (8.41 seconds), Peapod (9.21), OfficeMax (9.37 seconds), Amazon.com (9.53 seconds) and Blue Nile (9.77 seconds).

For all retailers in May, shoppers with high broadband could access a Top 50 site in 6.15 seconds and 12.94 seconds with a low broadband link.
