Ruediger Trautmann Leaves Pago – Markus Weber Takes Over

Cologne, 22 September 2005 – Ruediger Trautmann has, at his own request, resigned as CEO with effect from 30 September 2005 after five and a half years at the helm of Pago. Pago has been headed by two executive officers till now: Ruediger Trautmann as CEO and Dr. Markus Weber as CFO. Markus Weber takes over as sole CEO as from 1 October 2005 and will therefore also take on the customer-orientated responsibilities.

Pago will continue with its successful strategy as an international acquiring and payment service provider strengthening its position as one of Europe’s leading service companies in its field. Pago is a Deutsche Bank AG and Beisheim Holding Schweiz AG company.

Short biography: Dr. Markus Weber:
After graduating with a degree in Business Administration and being awarded a doctorate from the University of Münster, Germany, Markus Weber began his professional career in 1991 as the Project Manager for New Business Development for the Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale in Düsseldorf. In 1995 he became a Senior Advisor for Subsidiaries and Affiliates at WestLB Headquarters responsible for the bank’s investment portfolio in retail, wholesale and small and medium sized companies. From 1996 to 1998 Weber became a project manager and headed the successful restructuring of a medium-sized chemicals group, selling the company on to a group of international investors. In 1999 he moved to the Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt, as a Divisional Director responsible for group holdings and investments in the Asia/Pacific region as well as for transaction banking in Germany. From the beginning of 2000 until his move to Pago, he was a Director for Corporate Development at the Deutsche Bank.

Markus Weber became CFO of Pago on 1 February 2001 and has since been responsible for Finance, Operations, IT and Risk Management Services. As from 1 October 2005 Markus Weber takes over as the sole CEO of Pago eTransaction Services GmbH, thereby adding Product Management, Customer Care, Sales and Marketing to his portfolio of responsibilities.
