Tomax Retail.net® Workforce Forecaster and Scheduler Deliver Business Benefits at Wakefern-ShopRite
190-store supermarket schedules over 50,000 associates with thin client solution
Salt Lake City, UT. September 26, 2005. Tomax Corporation announces the successful deployment of Retail.net Workforce Forecaster and Scheduler at Wakefern-ShopRite.
This achievement marks the culmination of a team effort between Tomax and Wakefern to provide the industry`s most accurate labor scheduling system deployed on thin clients over a wide area network. Wakefern leverages Retail.net`s ability to forecast demand and optimize workforce schedules to ensure their associates are scheduled in the right place, at the right time, in order to maximize customer service while reducing total labor costs. The Wakefern environment is demanding, requiring forecasting over 800 business category labor drivers, on behalf of 50,000 associates in 190 ShopRite stores, all while managing extremely complex union requirements.
The Northeast trading region, which includes the New York Metropolitan area, is one of the toughest markets in the country from a competitive standpoint as well as from the ability to handle the complex union requirements and workforce rules. Tomax Retail.net is the only solution that can meet these demands.
“This is one of the most sophisticated implementations we have seen, reflecting the severe requirements of a competitive retailer. We are delighted to say that Retail.net passed the test,” commented Randy Park, Vice President of Workforce Solutions for Tomax. “The Retail.net Forecaster and Scheduler solutions deliver the most accurate forecasting available to retailers, along with advanced optimization functions that match each employee`s qualifications, proficiency and availability to fit demand. It`s all about better customer service and managed labor costs,” continues Park.
“The Workforce Management solution that Tomax provides has enabled our ShopRite members to improve productivity and service. This tool allows us to configure not only for the regulations governing minors, but also for our various union rules. Bottom line, it works well,” states Pete Rolandelli, Vice President Logistics for Wakefern.
Currently, Tomax labor scheduling applications are used by over 50% of the Fortune 500 Grocers in North America.
