Davox Extends Presence in High-Growth Indian Contact Center Market

Davox Partners with Global Tele-Systems Ltd. to License its Contact Center Solutions

WESTFORD, Mass., Jul 11, 2001 -- Davox Corporation (Nasdaq: DAVX), a proven provider of customer interaction management (CIM) solutions, today announced that it has signed a business partner and professional services partner agreement with Global Tele-Systems Limited, an application service provider, software services and engineering services company based in Mumbai (Bombay), India. The agreement authorizes Global Tele-Systems Ltd. to offer Davox`s complete line of customer contact solutions in India. Global Tele-Systems Ltd. provides contact center solutions to Global Call Center and other leading customer contact service organizations.

"Due to the sophisticated technical and language skills of its population, India is becoming increasingly popular as a location to establish contact centers that serve global companies` customers. This important partnership with Global Tele-Systems Ltd. is expected to generate significant new business opportunities for Davox in India," said Pramod Ratwani, vice president of Asia-Pacific for Davox. The agreement with Global Tele-Systems Ltd. expands Davox`s presence in the high-growth Asia-Pacific market. Over the last 18 months, Davox has established offices in Singapore, Japan, Australia, and soon in India, to better serve its distributors and customers in the region. Existing Asia-Pacific customers include Citibank, NTT, Singapore Telecommunications, and Westpac.

According to market research firm Frost & Sullivan, the market for call center systems in India is projected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of approximately 47 percent from $8.6 million in 2000 to $28.9 million in 2005, led by demand from telecommunications firms and financial institutions. Current Davox customers in India include GE Capital and Spectramind.
