Newest alliance continues Digimarc’s penetration into interactive kiosk marketplace
TUALATIN, Ore. – July 11, 2001 – Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC), the world leader in digital watermarking technology and applications, and SeePoint Technology, a leading provider of Internet-ready and fully integrated kiosk systems, announced today an agreement to bring Digimarc MediaBridge technology to SeePoint’s interactive kiosks.
Under the agreement, SeePoint will offer Digimarc MediaBridge as a way for retail customers to link branded print promotions, including catalogs, product inserts or member cards, to a kiosk that delivers targeted information or buying opportunities via the Internet or local data stored in the kiosk.
An interactive kiosk is a self-contained unit combining hardware and software that enables Internet access, e-commerce transactions or data collection from retail, office, entertainment or other public locations.
“SeePoint is penetrating the kiosk marketplace by delivering fully integrated, aesthetically pleasing kiosk technology at a competitive price,” said Indra Paul, vice president and general manager of Digimarc MediaBridge. “With SeePoint, Digimarc is broadening its reach into the kiosk market and helping businesses maximize their marketing campaigns.”
SeePoint, located in Torrance, Calif., designs, manufactures and deploys low-cost kiosk systems that are based on standard hardware and software components. SeePoint customers include CBS, Phillips-van Heusen, San Francisco Airport and Neutrogena-MTV.
“Digimarc MediaBridge provides an exciting, new way for our clients to interact with their customers,” said Jonathan Arfin, president of SeePoint Technology. “By combining the power of Digimarc MediaBridge’s connected content capabilities and SeePoint’s kiosk systems, we can deliver an outstanding customer experience and support our clients’ marketing objectives.”
SeePoint offers a full line of off-the-shelf kiosk products with a variety of stands and mounting options. SeePoint also designs and produces custom kiosk enclosures and signage to reinforce a client’s brand.
Digitally watermarked print materials such as cards, brochures, magazines, product packaging and direct response mailers link readers to online information when held in front of a Web camera or other image-capture device enabled with Digimarc MediaBridge software. The software initiates a response that instantly connects the user to relevant information, applications, offers or opportunities to purchase. A Digimarc `D` symbol located on the printed material indicates that the object is Digimarc MediaBridge-enabled.
