Trade group the Electronic Retailing Association, which primarily represents direct TV marketers, has hired veteran trade association manager Jack Chiasson as its new vice president of membership with the goal of expanding its rolls to Internet retailers.
Chiasson, who has 16 years of association management, has held positions with the National Association of Broadcasters, United Way of America and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. The ERA says much of his experience is in leadership development and membership recruitment.
“The move is part of a larger effort to increase the organization’s breadth of membership to include traditional retailers and advertisers as well as the growing online retailing industry,” the ERA said in announcing Chiasson’s hiring.
The 13-year-old Electronic Retailing Association has 386 members.
