Digibug hires mergers and acquisitions firm to boost stock

Digibug Express Inc., an online photo hosting retailer, has engaged Internet mergers and acquisitions firm iMerge Advisors to assist in exploring strategic alternatives to maximize stock value.

Online digital photography continues to grow. As image hosting becomes a standard feature on a wide range of consumer and business sites, such as social networks, industry observers note, the opportunity to enable print and gift sales in a way that generates profits for site operators and their members is increasing. Waltham, MA-based Digibug’s e-commerce platform enables web sites to sell images they host.

“As we continue to grow our customer and technology base, we are looking for a strategic partner that can leverage our solutions for photo commerce and hosting for consumer and professional/event photographers,” says John Treadway, co-founder of Digibug. “We believe the right partner will help Digibug to grow and prosper in ways that would be easier to achieve than as an independent company.”

“Early interest has been strong and we are confident we can successfully market their business to appropriate buyers,” says Ross Whittaker, managing director of iMerge Advisors.
