Pep Boys Completes Rollout of Reflexis Task Management Solution in 10 Weeks

Norwood, MA –10/04/2005 - Reflexis Systems Inc, the leader in workforce management software, has completed the companywide implementation of the Reflexis Task Management solution for The Pep Boys — Manny, Moe & Jack (NYSE: “PBY”), the nation’s leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain. Reflexis task management has enabled Pep Boys to streamline communications, understand store workload, clarify priorities and put the store focus back on the customer.

Said Terry Winslow, Pep Boys’ vice president of Human Resources, “With the Reflexis solution, we are able to more effectively manage, develop and deliver communications and tasks, including line-of-business specific and corporate messages. Ultimately, this will help to improve the quality, timeliness, effectiveness and coordination of communications and tasks directed to our retail, service and commercial managers. It will also enable our field management to remotely monitor execution and compliance at the store level. All of these benefits will impact our performance and the bottom line positively.”

In just 10 weeks, the system was implemented at Pep Boys’ 593 store locations, and nearly 1,200 retail, service and field managers were trained on the system. The store and field associates readily embraced the product. The Reflexis solution is very easy to use with store and field personnel training conducted via web cast and e-learning tools. “The reaction of the store and field personnel to the system has been exceptional and much better than expected as we have seen improvement in compliance,” said Joe Brennan, of Pep Boys’ Operations Administration. “This, together with the responsiveness and positive attitude toward Reflexis, contributed greatly to the ability to be up and running with the system in such a short timeframe.”

Pep Boys needed a system that could:

. manage and monitor store workload
. clarify priorities
. enable corrective action to audits quickly
. provide companywide visibility of execution status

With the Reflexis solution, managers are able to access all the information they need to manage, plan, and track their assignments, and to report their progress on completing assignments. Information is updated in real time. At the corporate level, Operations Administration is able to track workload demands and prioritize work, ensuring the most important work can be done timely and effectively.
