Apparel and home furnishings brand Karen Neuburger relaunched its retail web site this month on the Onestop Internet e-commerce platform. New features include site search results that can be sorted by multiple categories.
The new platform replaces a home-grown site search function that returned general content not necessarily tied to products for sale, such as press releases about a new line of pajamas, says Kari Zanotto, director of customer experience and online services ford Karen Neuburger. “We had to fiddle with it to make sure it presented products,” she says. “Now shoppers can search for pajamas and see products with images.”
The new site search feature also lets shoppers sort search results by several categories, including size, low-to-high prices, high-to-low prices, best sellers and new arrivals.
Karen Neuburger plans to continue improving its site search, possibly with other technology partners, to provide additional functionality such as searching for customer-generated product reviews, Zanotto says.
The new site also offers customer reviews technology from PowerReviews, which lets shoppers upload their own reviews and read reviews posted by other shoppers. Eventually, the site may offer the ability to search reviews content by product category, top sellers or new items, Zanotto says.
Other new features on the site include RealZoom from site design firm A Far Site Better, which zooms in on a product’s details as a shopper mousse over a product image. Karen Neuburger has introduced PayPal as a payment option on the site as well as the ability to ship to Canada. In addition, it has subscribed to ScanAlert’s Hacker Safe security certification, which assures protection of customer identify and credit card account information.
