Asian Language Campaigns Help Drive Sales and Build Customer Loyalty

San Mateo, Calif. July 23, 2001 Digital Impact, Inc. (Nasdaq: DIGI), the premier provider of online direct marketing for enterprises, today announced that it has successfully implemented e-mail marketing campaigns in Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages for Hewlett-Packard, thereby extending the company’s worldwide marketing reach.

“Digital Impact’s solutions are designed to help corporations create and implement industry-leading online direct marketing campaigns that help drive revenue and deepen customer relationships,” said William Park, chairman and CEO of Digital Impact. “The successful completion of Hewlett-Packard’s Asian language campaigns is an important milestone that reiterates our commitment to helping corporations achieve their global marketing objectives by communicating with their customers in the medium and language of their choice.”

The goal of the campaigns was to enable Hewlett-Packard to send targeted e-mails in Asian languages to its global customer base in order to drive sales, increase web site traffic and build customer loyalty. The campaigns, which were sent to IT professionals, managers, and strategists, included informational monthly updates about new site features, promotions, and reminders of online strategic planning, support, training and discussion group services. These campaigns proved to be highly successful resulting in double-digit open and click-through rates.

“Digital Impact shares Hewlett-Packard’s commitment to world-class customer service,” said Lisa Pernis, worldwide outbound marketing supervisor for the IT Resource Center website at Hewlett-Packard. “We chose to work with Digital Impact because their solutions enabled us to communicate with our large and diverse customer base in Asia in localized languages, while maintaining centralized control over messaging, content and delivery.”
