EC Outlook and ecSalesdata Announce Partnership
ecSalesdata Teams With EC Outlook to Offer Enhanced e-Commerce Solutions
HOUSTON, July 26, 2001 - EC Outlook, a software provider that automates
collaborative commerce activities for Global 1000 companies and their
trading partners, announced a partnership with ecSalesdata Solutions, an
Internet infrastructure software developer and application service provider.
This partnership enables ecSalesdata to link its software solutions to EC
Outlook`s Smart Document Interchange (SDI) Server(tm) software to more
efficiently and cost-effectively serve the data management needs of its
customers.
"By combining SDI Server`s any-to-any data translation capabilities with our
own software`s robust data management functionality, we`re able to quickly
and cost-effectively create a virtual private exchange," said Patrick
Bertagna, CEO of ecSalesdata. "This private exchange enables ecSalesdata`s
customers and their trading partners to easily and securely exchange
information electronically without purchasing additional hardware or
software or adding staff. In turn, this improves supply chain performance
and substantially lowers their overall communications costs."
"We`re pleased to partner with ecSalesdata to deliver increased cost savings
and bottom line results to their customers," said Dean Fischer, executive
vice president and general manager of EC Outlook. "This relationship speaks
to the compatibility of our solutions with other leading edge technologies
and how companies can leverage EC Outlook`s core B-to-B integration platform
to achieve compelling benefits for both their customers and themselves."
In the past, ecSalesdata has relied on translation software and their
associated maps to be present on every system they installed. When a
customer`s trading partner changed their EDI requirements, each ecSalesdata
system would have to be updated with the new map. By linking their software
to EC Outlook`s SDI Server, ecSalesdata will eliminate this time- consuming
maintenance process. Instead, if a trading partner changes a document,
ecSalesdata`s software will trigger SDI Server to make the required changes
to the map.
"This feature of our combined technologies is a significant benefit," added
Bertagna. "It will effectively eliminate many of the charge backs our
customers are currently experiencing due to transmission of obsolete
documents - the majority of which are due to changes or additions their
customers make to their EDI formats. With the addition of Vendor Managed
Inventory and Shipment Track and Trace functionality, our products allow the
supply chain to be a strategic asset."
ecSalesdata will offer a hosted version of its software online that will
link to EC Outlook`s SDI Server software. With its flat rate monthly
billing feature and no requirement for up front investment in new
technology, this offering will enable thousands of small to mid-size
businesses to reap the benefits of collaborative commerce.
