Danier Leather Awards ‘One-Stop Shop’ Contract to Fujitsu
Integrated Software, Hardware and Services
to Improve Customer Shopping Experience
FRISCO, Texas – October 20, 2005 – Toronto-based Danier Leather Inc. (TSX: DL.SV), an internationally recognized leader in leather and suede design, manufacturing and retailing, has awarded Fujitsu a contract for a full suite of customer transaction and relationship software applications, point-of-sale hardware, mobile technology and complete project management, deployment, integration and maintenance services.
“Danier was looking for someone who could handle complex, large-scale retail system integrations without having to involve a large number of vendors. Fujitsu’s offering of solutions, including an on-line integrated CRM system, chain-wide hardware and software maintenance and handheld terminals convinced us that they are the right one-stop shop partner for this project,” said Phil Cutter, chief information officer, Danier Leather. “We were impressed with the positive references we heard from every Fujitsu customer we contacted, which was a critical component of our decision making.”
The Fujitsu solution set includes:
• Stored Value Software – ValueCENTER stored value application saves retailers the expense of transaction fee-based gift card programs
• Returns Management Software – ReturnCENTER centralized returns management system reduces fraud and increases customer service by easing customer returns
• Delivery of Large-scale Integration – Lifecycle Services including complete project management, technical integration, project planning, procurement, staging, deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Customer Relationship Management Software – Corema real-time loyalty application, targeted campaign management and analytics for end-to-end customer relationship management
• Mobile Technology – Retail-hardened iPAD handheld terminals for inventory management and queue-busting
• POS Software – GlobalSTORE POS software for in-store transaction processing
• Data Reporting Software - StoreCENTER middleware for real-time data aggregation and reporting
• POS Hardware – TeamPoS 2000 M point-of-sale (POS) terminals
The complete, integrated solution will deliver Danier a platform for relentless cost reduction and world-class customer service.
The integrated solutions will deliver a closed-looped CRM system to Danier Leather. The Corema product will allow Danier Leather to track customer purchases and responses to promotions, thereby determining the return on investment of marketing campaigns. By mining data from GlobalSTORE POS, the Corema suite will allow Danier Leather to understand their customers’ purchasing habits and make available the best offers that generate a purchase response. By combining GlobalSTORE with TeamPoS 2000 and the mobile iPad device, Danier will be able to deliver expedited service and targeted offers anywhere in the store.
Danier will pilot the systems in October 2005 with full rollout to the company’s 97 stores across Canada scheduled to begin in the first calendar quarter of 2006.
“Danier has a compelling vision for their stores and we are delighted they have selected the full portfolio of Fujitsu solutions to deliver the platform to realize their vision,” said Austen Mulinder, president and CEO of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. “It is exciting to be involved at impacting Danier’s customers at a number of consumer touch points.”
