MapInfo and USADATA Partner to Deliver Customized Online Marketing List Service; MapInfo miLists to Provide Targeted Consumer and Business Prospect Lists

CHICAGO--July 30, 2001--NCDM (Booth #915)-- MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS) today announced a partnership with USADATA to jointly develop and deliver MapInfo miLists(TM), an online marketing list service. miLists will enable organizations to first identify and analyze new markets and then obtain a targeted list of prospects in those markets. The new map-enabled list service will offer marketers fast, flexible Internet access to comprehensive consumer and business prospect lists provided by Acxiom(R) Corporation. In addition to miLists, USADATA, an Axciom strategic alliance partner, will map-enable its Direct Mail Portal(TM) technology. MapInfo is demonstrating miLists at NCDM (Booth #915). "The USADATA and MapInfo solution will provide a new way to create simple and effective marketing campaigns on a regional basis," said Bruce Carroll, enterprise marketing leader, Acxiom. "For the first time, marketers will be able to visually request a prospect list from Acxiom and have it automatically fulfilled through USADATA." Marketers will benefit from using miLists by reducing the time it takes to analyze and order lists from days to minutes. Marketers in the finance, insurance and retail industries can use miLists to plan direct mail campaigns and extract lists for specific markets. For example, telecommunication companies can identify new customers within a specified target area and conduct ring and demographic studies for targeted campaigns. The miLists service enables users to query, define, order and download lists over the Internet and view the results as text or visualized on a map. Additionally, miLists includes a counter mechanism to provide quick counts of the number of records that meet the customer`s defined criteria.
