ShopNBC drums up the ‘12 Days of E-mail Marketing’

ShopNBC, an upscale home shopping television and e-retailer, has launched a holiday promotional e-mail campaign fashioned after the popular carol “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” The campaign is built on 12 consecutive daily e-mails sent to ShopNBC customers, each containing a special offer.

Customers will receive promotional e-mails featuring a video link to an on-air host presenting a special offer good for that day only. The next day’s e-mail is triggered only if the previous day’s missive was opened. At the end of 12 days, customers who opened all of the daily e-mails will receive a bonus offer.

The campaign’s goal is to provide a unique shopping experience, says Geoff Smith, vice president of Internet at ShopNBC. “While customers are sure to receive more e-mails from retailers this holiday season, we wanted to stand out from the rest with a fun and friendly viral campaign that helps communicate the great values ShopNBC has to offer during the holidays,” he says.

ShopNBC, which is operated by ValueVision Media Inc., is No. 64 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.
