Kevin Hall Joins Proflowers as Chief Information Officer
SAN DIEGO--Aug. 13, 2001--Proflowers Inc., the nation`s largest direct-from-the-grower floral company, announced today that Kevin Hall has been appointed chief information officer.
Hall will be responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that enhance process operations and consumer ease-of-use.
As the company`s technical visionary, Hall is responsible for leading the direction of the company-wide technology strategy by providing leadership in integrating and leveraging technology into all aspects of the Proflowers business model.
"Hall plays a vital role at Proflowers as the company`s lead technical advisor," said Bill Strauss, chief executive officer. "He possesses an extremely in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and has shown his capability to leverage people and technology to drive innovation."
Hall joins Proflowers from Amherst Technologies, where as chief technology and information officer, he grew the IT product and services revenue from $50 million to $500 million, reaching profitability in every quarter, as well as modernizing the company`s entire IT platform. The e-business site he created at Amherst was ranked within the top 20 in the world by Ernst and Young in their "Innovation 100: The Customer" report. Additionally, Hall has received the 2000 Smithsonian Laureate Medal, which is presented to top international IT executives for visionary use of technology in business.
