CNET makes free content available through plug-and-play widget

Online retailers can add CNET Networks content to their blogs as a way to attract more visitors to their e-commerce sites and increase natural search rankings using CNET’s open content platform.

Through the platform, retailers and other online sites can incorporate CNET’s premium content on their sites through plug-and-play widgets available at no cost at www.cnetnetworks.com/partnerships. Content is available in the business, technology, food, gaming and entertainment categories.

Retailers also can work with CNET to develop a customized partnership. Partners include AOL, YouTube, and NPD Group as well as more targeted sites and popular blogs such as BuddyTV, Cupcake BakeShop, GeekEntertainment TV, The Gothamist Network, Revision 3, Savory cities, Virapop.com and Wikia.

“The open content platform lets us enhance our own site with great content from one of the leading food web sites, and we also benefit from the increased brand exposure of our video content on CHOW.com,” says Chris McBride, CEO of Savory Cities, a restaurant guide web site.

CNET’s leading brands are BNET, CHOW, CNET, GameSpot, and TV.com.
