METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART SELECTS COMMERCIALWARE

CWDirect To Drive Order Management; CWIntegrate Ties All Retail Operations Together

Natick, MA – November 7, 2005 – CommercialWare Inc., the leading provider of multi-channel commerce solutions for retailers, today announced that the Metropolitan Museum of Art has chosen CommercialWare as a vital component of its best-of-breed retail solution to integrate its retail outlets, direct to consumer, and wholesale channels.

An integral part of the Metropolitan Museum’s best-of-breed, multi-vendor solution is a suite of CommercialWare products – CWDirect, CWIntegrate, CWData, and CWAnalytics. Working in concert with other retail software applications, the new system will replace an outdated combination of legacy applications that have been handling approximately 400,000 orders per year. The Metropolitan’s merchandise is sold through its 20 retail locations, including the museum’s main building at Fifth Avenue and 82nd Street in Manhattan, as well as online, through mail-order catalogues, and wholesale distribution.

Once in place, the Metropolitan Museum’s new system will give museum customer service personnel up-to-the-minute information about order status and provide Web and catalog customers with the ability to check order information in real time.

“The addition of CommercialWare into the upgraded retail operation will improve customer service and allow the Met to be responsive to our members’ requests and customer preferences,” said Frank Helmrich, Manager of Merchandising Systems with the museum. “By selecting CommercialWare, we will be able to obtain real time information about inventory, order status, and customers. This is critical to our business and will play a key role in the Metropolitan Museum’s ongoing growth.”

In addition to CWIntegrate, the museum will use CWDirect to streamline all aspects of catalog and online order management, as well as the wholesale business. CWData and CWAnalytics will provide the business intelligence and dynamic approach to data visualization that allows managers to easily explore their operations and revenues, identify high level trends, and quickly make business decisions.

“The Metropolitan Museum’s catalog and Web business is on the rise, and CommercialWare’s flexibility and scalability will serve them well over many years,” said Donny Askin, founder and CEO of CommercialWare. “The museum’s choice to deploy the best available technology for each part of its business, requires that each component be built upon open standards and integrates smoothly with applications from other vendors.”

Founded in 1870, the world-renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art is located in New York City`s Central Park. Its encyclopedic collections include more than 2 million works of art from 5,000 years of world culture, from prehistory to the present and from every part of the globe.
