
Borders Inks Webcast Deal
(www.border.com) Borders.com is teaming up with digital media company Centerseat to create Borders Vision, a series of Webcasts designed for book and music lovers and set to debut in first-quarter 2000. Borders Vision will allow customers to view programming tailored to their tastes, buy Borders products and watch selections from an array of in-store events.
The bookseller hosts more than 90,000 in-store events annually, ranging from readings by best-selling authors to performamces by musicians and other artists. As part of the agreement, Centerseat will film and present these events at Borders stores. The programs will be free and presented both on schedule and on-demand.
