Saks Goes Live Online
Saks Inc. today launched its saksfifthavenue.com web site. The site, which is launching with 12,000 SKUs of goods, will expand to 60,000 SKUs by the end of this year and to more than 100,000 SKUs buy the end of 2001, the company says. The range of products sold include Saksā exclusive designer boutique merchandise, womenās, menās and childrenās apparel , cosmetics, fragrances and other categories. The company says the Saks Fifth Avenue site will have customer service reps available by phone, email or live chat 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Saks Fifth Avenue credit card loyalty cardholders will be able to access account information via the site. Site features also include enlarge and zoom functions as well as the ability to rotate items 360 degrees. Saks Suggest allows customers to create outfits based on site recommendations. Fulfillment operations are based in Aberdeen, Md., the same location for Saks Fifth Avenue and the companyās catalog businesses Folio and Bullock & Jones.
