Dell Adds PayPal as Payment Option on Dell.com

ROUND ROCK, Texas--Nov. 14, 2005--Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) now accepts PayPal payments from U.S. consumer and small business customers, adding to the company`s many forms of payment options in advance of "Black Friday," the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.

Tens of millions of online shoppers looking for notebook computers, televisions or music players can pay for Dell purchases with their PayPal accounts -- using credit cards, bank accounts or stored account balances.

"PayPal gives consumers and small business owners more choice and convenience when doing business with Dell," said Tom West, director of Dell home and small business marketing. "In addition to Dell financing and other forms of payment, we welcome the millions of loyal, tech-savvy PayPal users."

There are more than 86.6 million PayPal accounts, with users transacting more than $6.7 billion in the third quarter of this year. "Given the popularity of PayPal, we expect the new payment option to be a hit with current customers and serve as a tool to attract new shoppers to Dell.com," West added.

"PayPal users are savvy online shoppers who consistently look to companies like Dell for the latest in computer and electronics systems," said Todd Pearson, senior director of merchant services for PayPal. "Our customers prefer to use PayPal because of the safety and convenience it offers. Now these customers can use PayPal to shop on one of the leading e-commerce sites in the world."
