SendMe provides subscribers universal access to music


Universal Music Group and SendMe Inc., a mobile media company, have announced a licensing agreement under which Universal’s catalog of music will be made available to members of SendMeMobile.com.

Founded in June 2006, SendMe is a provider of direct-to-consumer mobile entertainment via subscription services. Mobile content includes interactive trivia, ringtones, wallpapers, sweepstakes and now music.

Universal Music Group is a music company with wholly owned record operations or licensees in 77 countries. The company consists of record labels Decca, Deutsche Gramophone, Interscope Geffen A&M Records, Geffen Records, Island Def Jam Music Group, MCA Nashville, Mercury Records, Universal Motown Records Group and others.

“SendMe has created a unique mobile media platform that provides fans an exciting way to discover and enjoy music wherever and whenever they want,” says Rio Caraeff, executive vice president of eLabs, Universal Music Group.

“The quality of content offered by Universal builds on our goal of offering our members the finest and widest selection of ringtones, wallpapers, games, and other mobile-ready content they can take with them anytime, anywhere,” says Russell Klein, co-founder and CEO of SendMe.
