MexGrocer takes the specialization route to the online grocery business
The latest thinking about achieving success on the web is to specialize. MexGrocer.com, which launched today, is implementing that strategy. MexGrocer.com is a bilingual Spanish and English national online grocery store specializing in traditional, non-perishable Mexican specialty foods. "MexGrocer.com is designed to cater to the 34 million Hispanics in the U.S. and the ever-increasing number of non-Hispanics that crave and enjoy authentic Mexican specialty foods," Ignacio Hernandez, the company's founder, president and CEO, said in a statement that accompanied the announcement of the launch. In fact, MexGrocer is adopting another of the latest trends in e-retailing--incorporating a b2b function along with its b2c activities. Hernandez will sell products not only to consumers but also to Mexican restaurants, online grocers, brick-and-mortar grocers and small Mexican independent grocers. MexGrocer.com has formed a strategic relationship with Royal Crown Foods, one of the largest Mexican food distributors, for warehousing and order fulfillment.
