A new meaning to a greeting card with feelings

Ecards.com announced that it will go live today as the first Internet greeting card site enabled with TouchSense technology from Immersion Corp. Visitors to Ecards.com can click on the "Ecards Good Vibes" icon and experience tactile sensations that correspond to on-screen events through mouse hardware that supports Immersion TouchSense Technology such as the iFeel MouseMan or iFeel Mouse designed by Logitech. "The raison d'etre behind ecards.com is about keeping in touch with family and friends," said Ecards.com President Vince Commisso. "We are thrilled to be able to provide our customers with the added element of tactile communication, and are confident that it will be an especially positive, realistic and compelling experience for them." The computer user experiences different tactile sensations as the iFeel(TM) mouse moves onto an object such as an icon, menu item or hyperlink. Additionally, the mice also function as standard high-performance optical mice. Ecards, based in Toronto, is a free online service that offers a selection of innovative, animated cards utilizing Flash technology. Varied design styles, vibrant movement, streaming sound and color provide visitors to the Web site with a unique interactive experience. Logitech's iFeel MouseMan will list for $59.95 and the iFeel Mouse will list for $39.95. Both will be available at the end of this month from Logitech dealers and distributors, and through Logitech's Web site at: www.logitech.com.
