Shipping Service for the Dot-com Age

At Internet speed, overnight is no longer the standard that defines fast shipping. So says 800SameDay.com, a New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based shipping service that has joined the ranks of those offering delivery services for companies that don’t want to wait for overnight delivery services from FedEx, UPS, or ExpressMail. The new SameDay service offers same-day shipping to any zip code in North America regardless of weight. Four levels of service start with Next Flight Out delivery within six to eight hours, and range up to same SameDay Local to every U.S. zip code. For big emergencies on big shipments, there’s SameDay Charter service, which charters an entire aircraft for a shipment when needed. And at what cost? "The rates for 800SameDay can actually be lower than the premium overnight service of UPS and FedEx," claims Norman Freeman, company president.
