Coming out to shop

PlanetOut, an Internet media company for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community whose shopping portal has links to many leading e-retail sites, raised more than $10 million in a third round of funding that includes America Online Investments, BMG Entertainment, Creative Artists Agency, EDventure Holdings, and Mayfield Fund. America Online Investments, Mayfield Fund invested in PlanetOut's earlier rounds and are now increasing their stakes. The others are new investors in PlanetOut. PlanetOut's shopping page links to CDNow (owned by BMG), Dell, Barnes & Noble, Ashford.com, Mothernature.com and Pets.com.
