E-Cards Will Replace More Paper Cards This Christmas


The Internet is solving the holiday card frenzy for a growing number of Americans, according to Greenfield Online's latest holiday shopping study. Maybe the Post Office won't notice a dip, but 13% of people on the Internet plan to purchase their holiday greeting cards online and 80% of them will send the cards by clicking instead of stamping.
     One company is poised to reap the lion's share of this holiday e-card business. Nearly half of online card buyers will "care enough to send the very best" and head straight to hallmark.com, according to the study of nearly 5,000 online consumers.
