SAM ASH MUSIC SELECTS WEB DSIGNSHOP FOR IN-STORE SIGN PRINTING
Leading music retailer to deploy AccessVia technology across nationwide chain
SEATTLE, November 30, 2005 — AccessVia®, the leading provider of automated sign printing solutions and electronic display technologies for retailers, today announced that the Sam Ash Music chain has chosen Web dSignShop® to deliver sign printing capabilities across its enterprise of 45 retail stores nationwide.
Sam Ash Music stores will use Web dSignShop to print in-store retail signs that feature up-to-the-minute item data. Using the corporate intranet, associates will quickly access batches of centrally designed signs or compose their own signs in the store using easy, predesigned templates. The Sam Ash headquarters team will maintain control of sign layouts and the real-time item data to ensure design consistency and sign accuracy among all the stores. The deployment will require no new infrastructure for the chain, as stores will use existing printers and Web-connected PCs to print the signs.
David C. Ash, Esq., Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Sam Ash Music said, “Within a generation’s time, we’ve grown from a small family-owned business to the second-largest instrument retailer in the country. We want to keep that small-scale customer focus, but we need tools that fit a nationwide business—and all the complexity that goes along with that. So using Web dSignShop is definitely the right fit for us. It keeps us from having to reinvent the wheel at every store. Now we’ll have one application, with the same data, available all the time. It’s just an efficient business model, and we’re confident we’ll see returns almost immediately.”
AccessVia CEO Dean A. Sleeper said, “Mid-sized chains like Sam Ash Music know that margins are too slim and competition is too intense to make compromises about their retail solutions. Now they don’t have to. Why not have convenience and artful results? Who said you can’t have ease of use and advanced capabilities? We want retailers to know that they don’t have to settle for less when Web dSignShop offers a comprehensive enterprise solution that’s genuinely affordable. They don’t have to put up with all those tired trade-offs anymore.”
AccessVia Web dSignShop was recognized in both 2002 and 2003 as a Microsoft® Retail Application Developer (RAD) Award winner and has won the 2004 Microsoft EMEA RAD Award. The Microsoft RAD Award highlights the most innovative Microsoft-based software solutions for the retail and supply chain industries.
